Moisturised Poppin Curls

Lovies, Do you want curls that  pop??? Then follow these simple steps. 1) No deep-conditioning is too much for your moisture craving hair type. So Shoot for a treatment once or twice per week. 2) To make your curls even happier, apply the deep conditioner while you're in the shower allowing the steam to help seal in the moisture. 3) Work the conditioner through the coils, avoiding your roots and concentrating on the ends. 4) Rinse with cool water and leave in a bit of conditioner to protect and coat each strand. There you have it. Curls galore......

Choosing a product

Garnier Fructis Curl Nourish shampoo and conditioner is theeeee holy grail. When I'm done washing my hair it feels so soft and manageable. If I don't use those, then I'll just use the Whole Blends leave in conditioner by Garnier in between washes. Then I moisturize using Lotta Body Coconut and Shea oil. I always receive compliments on work on how lovely my hair smells. It left my hair soooo soft that using excessive products on a daily basis wasn't necessary. Those days when I really needed that sleek look, I would use the Happy Curl Beeswaz Pomade. Those baby hairs just didn't budge.😜.

Trial and Error

Natural hair is beautiful and as such women go to great lengths to maintain their precious tresses. Finding the "right product" isn't an easy task and we must go thru the trial and error phase. We can research and resort to "YouTube"for advice, which can be a plus and thus you're now able to maintain a hair care regime that's personally suited towards your specific needs. The natural hair journey can be a tedious one, but the most important thing to do is understand your hair type. Life's going to be a breeze knowing hair maintenance just got wayyyy easier.

Trying times

Oh how my transition process was terriblllllle!!. From spending time using rods at night and waking up to a catastrophe in the morning. My hairstyles never came out the way I wanted them to look because the roots and ends were two different textures. I tried flat ironing to help manage it, capital D for disaster! I tried all kinds of cheap oils from Pennywise and they clearly didn't work, I was even more fraustrated and didn't know what else to do. The only hairstyle that really worked for me was finger coils and twist outs. What worked for you? Drop me a line or two 😉😉

Frizz's

Taking care of your tresses can be really time consuming! We admire other women not knowing or even realizing that it takes time and effort. Our hair textures vary and as such our routines would not be the same. Whether your mane is short, medium or long upkeep is crucial if you live a very active lifestyle. Especially considering that we live in a tropical climate which equals frizziness. How can we escape that frizz after that perfect beach day at Maracas. That deep conditioner better be on standby else you’ll end up walking around like a frizz ball in these streets.

Bed Time

Castor oil, shea butter and oil olive just to name a few are perfect for use in hair before going to bed. Tying with a silk scarf is ideal for locking in that moisture which not only protects it but also stimulates growth whilst we’re on the clouds. It can be rather frustrating having dry hair and scalp as a naturalista. Therefore we can’t stop stressing on that magic word called “moisturize”! Once you have grasped the concept on how to ideally moisturize, your tresses would be a whole lot more manageable.
