Trying times

Oh how my transition process was terriblllllle!!. From spending time using rods at night and waking up to a catastrophe in the morning. My hairstyles never came out the way I wanted them to look because the roots and ends were two different textures. I tried flat ironing to help manage it, capital D for disaster! I tried all kinds of cheap oils from Pennywise and they clearly didn't work, I was even more fraustrated and didn't know what else to do. The only hairstyle that really worked for me was finger coils and twist outs.
What worked for you? Drop me a line or two 😉😉

  1. The last time I put chemicals in my hair was July 2016. It was a difficult but necessary decision but making the big chop was still painful. Since one of my daughters is a naturalista she was able to guide me in choosing hair products. I did not have much difficulty. The African Pride line of products work wonderfully for me and is easily accessible. Now I embrace this new and natural me!!!

Leave and go !!!

The key to maintaining moisture in natural hair is a great leave in conditioner. Mixtress J has an amazing leave in conditioner that works wonderssssss for your hair. Then there's the Irish Moss and my oh my, its a wonderful product that keeps the hair moisturized by only using a small amount rubbed in the palm of your hands and massaged into your hair. I swear by it. It also has a great scent and works well to fight the frizz on those humid days. This thing is sooo good that you can use it as a "wash and go" with no product build up.  Trust meh

Liberation Day!!!!

The straight stringyyy ends fraustrated me on a daily basis. So ya girl woke up one Saturday morning , got dressed and headed to Arima into the barber's chair. Twenty minutes later voilaaaa. I'm walking down the stairs feeling ten pounds lighter. I felt sooooo liberated, I was just smiling on my journey home. Lorsh, my kids thought I was crazy when I walked in the door. I rocked my bald head for a couple of days until I decided I'll be a blondie!!! I've been a blondie ever since with no regrets, no worries on what to do with my head on mornings.

Moisturised Poppin Curls

Lovies, Do you want curls that  pop??? Then follow these simple steps. 1) No deep-conditioning is too much for your moisture craving hair type. So Shoot for a treatment once or twice per week. 2) To make your curls even happier, apply the deep conditioner while you're in the shower allowing the steam to help seal in the moisture. 3) Work the conditioner through the coils, avoiding your roots and concentrating on the ends. 4) Rinse with cool water and leave in a bit of conditioner to protect and coat each strand. There you have it. Curls galore......
