Popular Natural Hair brands

Shea moisture, Aunty Jackie,Cantu and Carol's daughter are some of the most popular brands that women of color use on their natural hair. Some products can either work for you,as well as against you. Trying out different products can sometimes end up being  very costly. I have personally tried Shea moisture to help put moisture back into my already dry hair and it just made it worse ๐Ÿ˜ข. My hopes were really high but I ended up being soooo disappointed. That meant, on to the next product, and the dry hair struggle continues.
So many products to choose from and yet some are just marketing gimmicks.

Happy choosing !!!!!

  1. I find that the less products I use on my hair the better for me. My hair loves water, coconut oil and shea butter.

  4. The Cantu and Auntie Jackie worked good as detanglers for me but I don't find they keep the hair moist.. it feels almost watery so by the time I unloose their hair it feels so dry...ORS girls works nice and the Olive Oil cream moisturiser as well

Leave and go !!!

The key to maintaining moisture in natural hair is a great leave in conditioner. Mixtress J has an amazing leave in conditioner that works wonderssssss for your hair. Then there's the Irish Moss and my oh my, its a wonderful product that keeps the hair moisturized by only using a small amount rubbed in the palm of your hands and massaged into your hair. I swear by it. It also has a great scent and works well to fight the frizz on those humid days. This thing is sooo good that you can use it as a "wash and go" with no product build up.  Trust meh

Trying times

Oh how my transition process was terriblllllle!!. From spending time using rods at night and waking up to a catastrophe in the morning. My hairstyles never came out the way I wanted them to look because the roots and ends were two different textures. I tried flat ironing to help manage it, capital D for disaster! I tried all kinds of cheap oils from Pennywise and they clearly didn't work, I was even more fraustrated and didn't know what else to do. The only hairstyle that really worked for me was finger coils and twist outs. What worked for you? Drop me a line or two ๐Ÿ˜‰๐Ÿ˜‰

Natural styles for short, medium and long hair

Be creative and explore your options dare to be different and make people go wow I love her hairdo! Cornrows, twists, updos and puffs are the more popular styles with sooo much versatility you’re gonna want to try them all out. Flat twists with rubber bands or hair clips are perfect for those gals with short hair.   Even twisting your entire head rock it for a couple days then release those coils and transform into a new you!
